About the Role

We are seeking an experienced education lawyer to join our thriving regulatory compliance practice at VWV. As a key member of our team, you will work closely with our team lead for academies and maintained school practice to service and supervise the work of the team and help deliver our strategy at a time of political change and huge opportunity for the sector.

About the Team

Our regulatory compliance team is a specialist group of lawyers who guide our clients, particularly education and health and social care providers, through their regulatory frameworks and help manage the legal challenges they face. We have a strong reputation for our sector knowledge, high service level standards, and range of pricing options, which sets us apart from other firms.

About You

We are looking for an experienced education lawyer, specialising in parent and student matters and compliance with regulatory frameworks that apply to schools, ideally at associate or senior associate level. You will have broad expertise across contentious and non-contentious aspects of the work and experience in advising maintained schools and academies on these issues.

Key Responsibilities
  • Advising maintained schools and academies on admissions and exclusions, student behaviour and discipline, safeguarding, special educational need and equality issues, complaints and claims, inspection advice, EHCP consultations, and funding issues.
  • Working closely with our team lead to service and supervise the work of the team and help deliver our strategy.
  • Providing critical incident management and reputation protection services.
