Cyber Security Specialist

An exciting opportunity has arisen at the University of Cambridge for a skilled Security Engineer to join our team and contribute to the delivery of cyber-security services for our ~60,000 students and staff.

You will work closely with our security operations team to develop and maintain infrastructure and security services, including firewalls and intrusion prevention systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement secure infrastructure and security services to protect our network and systems.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to identify and respond to security threats and incidents.
  • Analyse data using enterprise cyber-security tools to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Research and implement new cyber-security tools and capabilities to stay ahead of emerging threats.

Requirements:

  • Strong background in cyber-security and experience working with security technologies and services.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work calmly under pressure.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Ability to learn new technologies and adapt to changing security landscape.
