Maintenance Engineer Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our team at Spire Murrayfield Edinburgh Hospital.

The successful candidate will work as part of our hospital engineering team, providing a comprehensive and efficient engineering service, maintaining a safe environment for patients, colleagues, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Utilize the Computerised Maintenance Management System (Pirana) to manage building services and maintenance requests.
  2. Assist the Estates Manager in managing external contractors and ensure compliance with Spire policy and hospital Senior Management Team guidelines.
  3. Perform maintenance and testing of plant and equipment, adhering to current HTM recommendations, PPM Schedules, and manufacturers' instructions.
  4. Receive, review, and prioritize maintenance requests from departments, maintaining records of work undertaken on Pirana.
  5. Participate in the out-of-hours emergency on-call service for both Edinburgh hospitals.
  6. Provide an in-house day-to-day maintenance service, maximizing resources and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
  7. Work in accordance with Spire Policy, Health & Safety, and COSHH Legislation.
Requirements
  • Recognized apprenticeship in Electrical Engineering with C&G Qualification in Electrical or Mechanical field.
  • Relevant certificates or willingness to undertake specialist training in specific areas.
