Job Description: Wigan SEND Support Assistant

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced SEND Support Assistant to join our team at Exclusive Education in Wigan. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in supporting children with Special Educational Needs in a Primary School setting.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will have experience working with children with SEN, particularly those with ASD and Global Developmental Delay. You will work closely with the class teacher and EYFS team to develop strategies to support the pupil's learning and social skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the pupil in overcoming barriers to learning and developing their independence
  • Attend EHAT/TAC meetings to discuss the pupil's progress and develop strategies for improvement
  • Maintain accurate records of the pupil's progress and development
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A relevant teaching assistant qualification (e.g. NCFE, CACHE or NVQ Level 1, 2 or 3)
  • Eligibility to work in the UK or be a UK resident
  • Previous experience working with children in the last 2 years
  • Excellent knowledge of the EYFS curriculum and assessment frameworks
  • Experience working with pupils with Special Educational Needs
  • Two references working with children
  • Hold a current DBS
