Job Title: Marine Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Marine Engineer to join our team at Boskalis Westminster. As a Marine Engineer, you will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of all machinery and electrical equipment onboard our 24M Multicat workboat.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure safe and efficient operation and maintenance of all propulsion, auxiliary, and deck machinery, electrical appliances, air conditioning, domestic installations, fittings, and structures.
  • Consult with the Master to achieve maximum economy while maintaining minimum efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with Oil and Environmental Pollution Prevention Legislation and train crew members on Emergency Procedures and Contingency Plans.
  • Take overall responsibility for the configuration of the vessel and all systems and equipment.
  • Keep accurate records of labor, bunkers, lubricating oils, and water consumed.
  • Plan and execute maintenance and repair work with minimal disruption to the vessel's program.
  • Adhere to Company Rules and Procedures, ensuring staff are aware of safety and other relevant matters.
  • Make regular inspections of machinery and machinery spaces.
  • Be responsible for bunkering and ensuring the quality and quantity of fuel and lubricants.
  • Arrange transfers of fuel, lubricant oil, ballast, and fresh water, checking plans with the Master.
  • Prepare spare gear orders and inventory lists, ensuring adequate spares are available.
  • Keep engine room records as required by the Company.
  • Return Company Reports and Forms to the Base Office in a timely manner.
  • Deal with Classification Society Survey requirements for both hull and machinery.
  • Ensure the security of all watertight compartments.
  • Provide a detailed handover when joining or leaving a Company vessel.
