**Job Description**

We're seeking a highly skilled F1 Production and Build Technician to join our team at McLaren. In this role, you'll be responsible for leading or assisting in the execution of Rigs and component testing within our F1 Production & Build function.

About the Role

You'll work on various cross-departmental disciplines, including component sign-off, fatigue and test procedures, structural development, and suspension system testing, as well as on and off-site type approval and homologation activities, dyno and rig testing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Characterisation and sign-off of brake system components.
  • Calibration of component and assembly strain gauges.
  • Routine service and testing of metallic and composite car components.
  • Development testing on present and future concepts and materials.
  • Monitor, capture, post-process, and present test data to engineers, databases, and lifing software suites.
  • Proactive in initialising preparations of software/hardware files for future tests.
  • Assist with installation of test assemblies and components.
Requirements

We're looking for an individual with recent experience of working within a highly technical vehicle technology testing environment in Formula 1 and/or premium automotive racing car series. You should have experience in the use, set up, and operation of hydraulic/servo mechanical actuators and test rigs. Previous experience with Zwick/Cats3 or similar servo mechanical and servo hydraulic control systems is also required.

A good working knowledge of Microsoft Office products is essential, as well as the ability to display a basic understanding of materials/component fatigue testing. Previous experience in sign-off testing conforming to motor sports governing bodies' sporting regulations is also desirable.

The salary for this role is estimated to be around £50,000-£60,000 per annum, depending on experience. We offer a comprehensive package of benefits, including private healthcare, car schemes, life insurance, and generous pension contributions.
