CMS2 - Critical Maritime Systems & Support is seeking a highly skilled Project Engineer to join our team in the Portsmouth area.
About the Role:
We are looking for a talented Project Engineer to work on the design and manufacture of atmospheric control systems for the defence industry. As a Project Engineer, you will be responsible for managing engineering activities for In Service Support Projects / Spares, working directly to the ISS Delivery Manager, and supporting the ISS Technical Manager, and ISS Project Managers to ensure the product is delivered to the specification of the Product/Project.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage design improvement/obsolescence activities relating to assigned projects, providing technical guidance in line with the Product Specification to the engineering resources assigned.
- Define the content of standard project documentation (technical, operation, maintenance manual etc.)
- Report on the technical content of the project to the ISS Technical Manager and ISS Project Managers.
- Identify technical risks to the ISS Technical Manager and ISS Project Managers and work on the appropriate strategies for risk management.
- Provide technical support for the ISS Technical Manager and ISS Project Managers in customer communications during project delivery.
- Track activities to project plans and budgets, regularly reporting to the ISS Delivery Manager, ISS Technical Manager, and ISS Project Managers on progress as required.
- Raise purchase requisitions for all project materials.
- Provide technical support for procurement, production, and quality throughout the project lifecycle to ensure timely response to action items.
- Liaison with Production team, lead issue resolution, report progress to ISS Technical Manager and ISS Project Managers during build / manufacturing phases.
- Support engineering design as required by the project.
- Lead testing and commissioning of equipment working with the Test Technicians and Commissioning Engineers as required by the project.
- Ensure project activities are delivered as defined by the project manager, including ensuring design reviews are held, FMEAs are conducted, and appropriate test plans are in place.
- Maintain continuous professional development to ensure knowledge is up to date.
Requirements:
- HND or Degree in Mechanical / Electrical / Chemical Engineering or related subject.
- Experience of working in a Mechanical / Systems engineering environment.
- Experience of working on multiple projects.
- Practical competence in mechanical / systems assembly.
