Science Teacher Position at GSL Education

About the Role:

GSL Education's South Yorkshire branch is seeking a dedicated and experienced Science Teacher to join a reputable Secondary School. As a key member of the team, the successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality education in science and creating a supportive learning environment for students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teaching and Learning: Deliver engaging and effective Science lessons in line with the British education curriculum, ensuring students achieve their full potential.
  • Lesson Planning and Preparation: Plan and prepare Science lessons according to the British education curriculum, adapting to diverse classroom settings and catering to varying student needs.
  • Assessment and Progress Tracking: Assess, track, and report on students' progress, providing constructive feedback to support their growth and development.
  • Classroom Management: Foster and sustain a positive, inclusive learning environment, promoting student growth and development through effective classroom management.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with colleagues and school staff to ensure smooth transitions and effective communication, implementing school policies and procedures proficiently.

Requirements:

  • Qualifications: Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE), Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Teaching Experience: Proven track record of delivering excellent teaching experience in a similar role with secondary school children or within an educational setting.
  • Subject Knowledge: Solid knowledge of the UK Science curriculum and assessment frameworks.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with efficient classroom management skills.
  • DBS and Safeguarding: Enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the Update Service, with a strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection.
