The Role: Aftercare Decorator

The Aftercare Decorator will report directly to the onsite aftercare manager and will be responsible for delivering all aspects of decorative works in occupied houses and apartments. Key responsibilities include:

  • Conducting customer visits to ensure that all decorative works are completed to a high standard
  • Preparing comprehensive investigation reports to identify any defects or issues
  • Promptly attending to reported decorative defects and resolving them in a timely manner
  • Managing personal workload according to diarised activities and communicating any changes or adjustments to the aftercare manager
  • Reviewing all upcoming work in advance to ensure timely availability of materials and tools
  • Gathering all necessary information during visits and ensuring that customers have a full understanding of the works to be carried out
  • Maintaining cleanliness and professionalism of van and equipment, ensuring they are always fully stocked
  • Adhering to health and safety regulations and standards, promptly reporting any concerns to the aftercare manager
  • Providing accurate and up-to-date reporting of progress, including processing completion reports and feedback to appropriate colleagues
  • Updating all site and customer aftercare teams on progress and potential issues, regularly and consistently

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • Experience as a decorator and additional skills in patching, filling, sanding, mastic work, etc.
  • A full clean driving license
  • Good communication skills
  • A high level of flexibility and planning and organizing skills
  • The ability to build rapport and deliver high-quality customer aftercare
  • The ability to work on your own initiative as well as part of a team
  • Desirable: Passionate about continuous skill development and eager to expand expertise
  • Desirable: Further technical skills such as joinery, plumbing, and tiling
