We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Support Worker to join our team at Grateley House School, a successful 38-week residential school for young people with Autistic Spectrum Disorder.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to gain valuable experience working with students in a classroom environment, supporting them in lessons and assisting the teacher in the preparation of work, resources and equipment.

As a Support Worker, you will be responsible for supporting students during on and off-site activities, completing required paperwork to record observations and interventions, and working collaboratively with the teaching team to deliver a broad and balanced curriculum.

We are looking for someone who is committed to personal learning and development, and has a sincere commitment to sharing our long-term aims and drive for continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting students in lessons
  • Assisting the teacher in the preparation of work, resources and equipment

Requirements:

  • Previous experience of working with young people in a classroom environment is desirable, but not essential as training will be given
  • GCSE level (or equivalent) in literacy and numeracy
  • Commitment to personal learning and development
  • Sincere commitment to sharing our long-term aims and drive for continuous improvement
