SEN Teaching Assistant

As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work directly with children with special educational needs and develop your understanding of autism and other developmental conditions.
You will be responsible for supporting students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and additional learning needs, helping them thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
Key Responsibilities:- Support students in a classroom setting, providing one-to-one and group support to encourage participation and build confidence.
- Help students follow timetables and structured daily plans, reinforcing consistency to reduce anxiety and enhance focus.
- Use alternative communication tools, such as PECs (Picture Exchange Communication System), to help students express themselves effectively.
- Collaborate with professionals, including teachers, therapists, and the SENCO, to monitor progress and refine strategies for student development.
- Develop trusting relationships with students, fostering a safe and supportive environment where they feel valued and empowered.
This role is ideal for aspiring educational psychologists or those exploring careers in child development, mental health, or SEN support.
