Senior Archaeologist

Dalcour Maclaren is a dynamic and innovative consultancy working on a wide range of projects in Utilities and Infrastructure. We are seeking a Senior Archaeologist to join our team and contribute to our mission of shaping the future of our planet.
Key Responsibilities:- Collaborate with the Archaeology and Heritage Team and the wider Environmental Planning Team to provide advice and support to colleagues
- Undertake Archaeological DBAs, Heritage Statements, and EIA chapters to a high standard
- Design and develop programmes for archaeological fieldwork projects across various sectors
- Source and commission archaeological fieldwork, geophysical, and other surveys
- Provide on-site management of archaeological works as a Project Officer or Archaeological Clerk of Works
- Manage consultations with stakeholders, clients, and contractors
- Provide expert on-site problem resolution
- Undertake Post Excavation Assessment and Reporting
- Supervise and mentor junior team members
- Manage project budgets and deadlines effectively
- Understanding of UK commercial archaeology, planning legislation, and the role of archaeological and heritage works in the planning process
- Demonstrable practical experience in commercial archaeology (5 years' experience)
- Demonstrable experience of completing archaeological fieldwork, including site setup, team organization, and assessment report writing
- Experience of a diverse range of evaluation and mitigation types
- Ability to support managers in their duties and assist with overseeing projects
- Full clean UK driving license
- Up-to-date CSCS card (Academically Qualified Person or Professionally Qualified Person)
- Membership of CIfA, at Associate or Member level
- Good organizational and communication skills
- Excellent team working skills and ability to act on their own initiative
- Working knowledge of MS Office and ESRI/GIS
- Excellent verbal and written skills
