Job Title: Senior Archaeologist

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Archaeologist to join our team at Dalcour Maclaren. As a Senior Archaeologist, you will play a key role in providing expert advice and support to our clients and colleagues on a wide range of archaeological projects.

Key Responsibilities:

* Provide expert advice and support to clients and colleagues on archaeological projects
* Undertake archaeological fieldwork, including site set up, team organisation, and assessment report writing
* Design and develop programmes for archaeological fieldwork projects
* Source and commission archaeological fieldwork, geophysical and other archaeological and heritage surveys
* Manage consultations with stakeholders, clients, and contractors
* Provide on-site management of archaeological works

Requirements:

* An understanding of UK commercial archaeology, planning legislation, and the role of archaeological and heritage works within the planning process
* Demonstrable practical experience in commercial archaeology, preferably on sites of various periods and types
* Experience of a diverse range of evaluation and mitigation types, from small to medium-sized projects
* Excellent organisational and communication skills
* Ability to work effectively as part of a team
