About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled CMF Designer to join our team at Telementum Global. As a CMF Designer, you will play a crucial role in driving the design of our products from concept to production.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design Leadership: Assist in the creation of category-leading CMF designs for our products, from concept to production.
  • Material Sourcing: Support the sourcing and maintenance of a comprehensive internal library of inspirational materials and finishes.
  • Colour and Material Development: Ideate and develop colours, materials, and finishes to realise CMF design narratives.
  • Team Growth: Take an active role in growing the CMF function at Telementum Global.
  • Resource Discovery: Support the discovery of new resources for materials to enhance innovation.
  • Collaboration: Develop and maintain good relationships with internal teams, including Purchasing, Finance, Quality, Engineering, and Project Teams.
  • Project Guidance: Guide project teams and customers through the design process, from identifying opportunities to crafting end-to-end solutions.
  • Workshop Facilitation: Plan and facilitate workshops and work sessions with internal teams, clients, and people from different backgrounds and areas of expertise.
  • New Business Efforts: Support new Telementum Global business efforts and shape proposal approaches with the business development team.
  • Collaborative Design: Liaise with partner manufacturers, working on collaborative design projects to ensure that Telementum Global brand values are maintained while expanding the product portfolio.
  • Project Planning: Assist in project planning and provide technical support to project execution and timelines.
  • Problem-Solving: Discuss and solve complex problems with manufacturing departments, sub-contractors, and suppliers.
  • Strategic Thinking: Share expertise in strategic thinking, design research, and design methods, and facilitate collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
Requirements
  • A degree in Textile Design, Colour and Material Design, Product or Industrial Design, or equivalent.
  • Professional CMF experience.
  • Highly motivated and collaborative, with a keen desire to learn and be part of a fast-paced, dynamic work environment.
  • Self-motivated, able to take initiative, and work independently when needed.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, both verbally and visually.
  • Superior colour vision and eye for detail.
  • Ability to travel if required.
  • Proficiency in software tools, including Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, KeyShot, and Office Suite.
  • Base understanding of both soft and hard material developments.
  • Ability to interpret and communicate research findings, apply brand values, and articulate product features in a fast-paced product development environment.
  • Deep understanding of current market trends and ability to adapt/develop products to meet those needs.
  • Articulate strategic intent and create supporting presentation materials.
  • Articulate the context of strategic design work with an understanding of business strategies and current market contexts.
