Isolation Specialist

At Tarmac, we're committed to creating a dynamic and inclusive environment where our people can thrive. We're currently seeking an experienced Isolation Coordinator to join our team at our Tunstead Quarry in Derbyshire.

This is a new role that has been developed to ensure contractor isolations meet our business standards and bring value to other areas. As an Isolation Coordinator, you'll play a critical role in ensuring compliance, confirming isolations, and reviewing and developing isolations.

• Ensure all Tarmac and CRH safety standards are understood and complied with, driving safety standards across the site.
• Attend and contribute to all safety meetings, site walk-a-rounds, plant cleaning days, inspections, and safety standdowns.
• Ensure personal and team safety targets are delivered.
• Become proficient in all aspects of our safety controls – applying isolations and issuing permits.
• Develop and control the isolation process for all contractors attending site.
• Work cross-functionally to arrange isolation requirements and communicate to the wider cross-functional team.
• Be the blaster champion for the site, ensuring full visibility of operational performance and SAP work orders are raised and scheduled.
• Attend the pre-schedule meeting to plan the work required.
• Drive and develop the isolation committee and the review process for both simple and complex isolations.
• Identify and drive improvements of the onsite isolation points.
• Support and contribute to the permit process during shutdown periods.
• Attend and contribute to daily and weekly meetings.
• Supervise teams of contractors.
• Control and maintain isolation equipment and stock levels.
• Attend daily performance meetings to identify any defective operational conditions (mechanical) that may affect production performance and feedback on raised defects status and monitoring results.
• Support and actively contribute to plant failure and RCA investigations.

The ideal candidate will have proven experience working within a Cement, Chemical, mining, quarrying, heavy industrial industry, or a similar environment with a strong can-do safety approach. Strong IT and communication skills are also essential.

Specific requirements include:

• IT Literate, particularly SAP and Microsoft Office applications.
• NEBOSH and/or IOSH Managing Safely would prove beneficial.
• Knowledge of Health, Safety and Environmental standards.
• Strong problem-solving and trouble-shooting skills.
• Sound knowledge of the isolation process.
