Job Title: Department Head

We are seeking an experienced Department Head to join our team at the Andrology Department of the Doctors Laboratory. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for providing operational management and leadership to the department, ensuring the highest levels of quality and service are maintained.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide operational management and leadership to the Andrology Department
  • Oversee the performance of routine diagnostic analytical work of the department
  • Ensure compliance with UKAS ISO15189, CQC, HFEA, and other relevant accreditation and regulatory bodies
  • Manage the use of monitoring systems, employment of qualified personnel, provision and operation of equipment, site health and safety, and maintenance of laboratory policies
  • Lead on change management projects within the area involving staff and processes
Requirements:
  • BSc or equivalent in a relevant subject
  • HCPC Registration
  • PhD in a Reproductive Biology field
  • Experience in leadership, staff recruitment, management, retention, and performance management
  • Ability to work on own initiative, communicate efficiently with other members of the laboratory, and assess competence
