Job Title: Neonatal Development Nurse

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Neonatal Development Nurse to join our team at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust. As a key member of our Neonatal Service, you will play a vital role in supporting the development of our nursing staff and ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement clinical education programs for nursing staff, focusing on neonatal care and development.
  • Provide mentorship and support to newly qualified nurses and those returning to practice, ensuring they have the skills and confidence to deliver high-quality patient care.
  • Collaborate with the Practice Development Nurse and other stakeholders to identify areas for improvement and develop strategies to address these.
  • Contribute to the development of evidence-based nursing practice across the Neonatal Service, ensuring that our care is aligned with the latest research and guidelines.
  • Work closely with the multidisciplinary team to ensure seamless communication and collaboration, promoting a culture of safety and quality.
Requirements:
  • Current registration with the UK NMC.
  • Mentorship qualification and/or Mentorship and Teaching and Assessing qualification/SSSA training.
  • Post-registration qualification relevant to neonatal specialty.
  • NLS provider.
  • Competent in medicines management.
  • Experience of working in a neonatal intensive care environment, caring for Level 1/Level 2 patients.
  • Ability to demonstrate management of caseload and decision-making skills.
  • Portfolio demonstrating continuous professional development.
  • Evidence of teaching one-to-one and small groups.
  • Evidence of performance reviews.
  • Evidence of change management.
  • Demonstrate understanding of Preceptorship and the national framework of preceptorship.
  • Evidence of supervision of pre-registration and post-basic students and non-registered staff.
  • Identify examples of mentorship.
