Development Chemist

We are seeking an experienced Development Chemist to play a key role in our client's Operations team, contributing to the smooth running of the distillation room and ensuring compliance with quality control systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform distillations and undertake development projects to support the scale-up of research to production scale.
  • Liaise with R&D and QC to solve problems and troubleshoot.
  • Support R&D in the development of processes.
  • Support the Director with distillation room management.
  • Undertake documentation and maintenance.
  • Enter results into the ERP system and maintain the company's record database.
  • Review and check technical documentation, policies, SOP's, and WI's.
  • Complete relevant paperwork and build good working relationships with stakeholders.
Requirements:
  • 5+ years' industry experience.
  • Degree in Chemistry, preferably in Organic Chemistry, or equivalent industry experience.
  • Experience with distillation and small-scale fine chemical manufacture.
  • Good understanding of English.
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office 365.
  • Awareness of hazards associated with potentially hazardous chemicals and materials.
  • Knowledge of analytical techniques and hands-on experience is beneficial.
