Job Title: Research Assistant

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team at the University of Glasgow as a Research Assistant in the field of structural biology. We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled individual to contribute to our research project focused on investigating the regulation of mRNA translation machinery in hepatocellular carcinoma.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with our team of researchers to design and conduct experiments using cryo-electron tomography (cryo-ET) and cryogenic correlated light and electron microscopy (cryo-CLEM).
  • Develop and enhance your research profile and reputation through the publication of high-quality research papers and presentations at international conferences.
  • Contribute to the organisation, supervision, and mentoring of undergraduate and postgraduate students.
  • Perform administrative tasks related to the research group and school, including budgeting and expenditure.
  • Engage in continuing professional development activities to stay up-to-date with current knowledge and recent advances in the field.
Requirements:
  • Experience in molecular biology, cryo-EM sample preparation techniques, and image processing.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good organizational and time management skills.
