About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Audio Operations Specialist to join our team at 696 DSC Corporate Services. As a key member of our broadcast operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the seamless delivery of live audio productions from our state-of-the-art facilities in West London.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure the set up and delivery of Riedel comms, bolero packs, and live audio output for assigned productions.
  • Work in partnership with production, technical producers, technical managers, and MCR to implement daily audio requirements for the facilities.
  • Support the management of sound supervisors and freelancers within the facility, ensuring staffing needs are covered and deliverables are supported.
  • Deliver technical schematic explainers and associated documentation as required.
  • Work in partnership with the resources team and operational management team to ensure efficient utilization of all technical and human resources.
  • Ensure all set up and testing is done in a timely manner and configurations are to the agreed standard.
  • Collaborate with Europe broadcasting teams to ensure seamless delivery of multi-regional live events.
  • Be a key point of contact for upcoming productions and point of contact on program days.
  • Act as a central point of contact for engineering in terms of audio requirements for all live broadcasts.
  • Manage equipment failure to ensure minimal disruption to transmissions.
  • Provide daily audio reports for each production.
  • Ensure compliance with all health and safety policies.
  • Create, develop, and support team training and skill enhancement to guarantee operators are agile and adaptable to all new technical developments.
  • Identify key development opportunities for improved workflows, system development, and enhanced reporting.
  • Support system and software development needs for the facility alongside technical supervisors and engineering teams, overseeing testing, implementation, and relevant training.

About You

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced audio professional with a thorough understanding of sports audio production processes and technical requirements. You will have a proven ability to successfully form and manage relationships with production partners and clients in an international environment.

Requirements

  • Extensive knowledge of sports audio production processes and technical requirements.
  • Proven ability to successfully form and manage relationships with production partners and clients.
  • Experience in designing and operating complex audio broadcast systems and a working knowledge of networking and IP infrastructure and Lawo desks.
  • Rounded knowledge of audio routing, audio tagging, Riedel talkback systems, and BNCS.
  • Track record of excellence as an audio guarantee in a live broadcast environment.
  • Experience of managing sound supervisors in a busy live environment.
  • Full understanding of shift-based work and freelancer support networks.
  • Demonstrably assertive and able to handle conflict effectively, calmly, and diplomatically.
  • Ability to work within a team environment and with a wide range of personalities and levels of authority.
  • Proactive in troubleshooting, problem-solving, and avoidance of issues.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to represent production operations at all levels.
  • Strong team player and solid interpersonal skills.
