A highly skilled Internal Medicine Specialist is required to join our expanding team at the Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust. The successful candidate will have a CCT or CESR in General medicine and be able to diagnose and treat a wide spectrum of clinical problems, ranging from the acutely ill young person to elderly patients with multiple complex co-morbidities. The role involves providing continued care both in the inpatient and outpatient setting for this patient group, as well as supporting a complex patient MDT and supervising Higher Specialty Trainees in Internal Medicine. The salary for this position is £80,000 - £110,000 per annum, depending on experience.
Main Responsibilities
The ideal candidate will have excellent team-working skills and the ability to work well in a multi-professional team. They will also have the ability to develop enhanced clinical skills, especially in the assessment and management of acutely ill patients. The main duties of the job include:
- To diagnose and treat a wide spectrum of clinical problems, ranging from the acutely ill young person to elderly patients with multiple complex co-morbidities.
- To provide continued care both in the inpatient and outpatient setting for this patient group.
- To support a complex patient MDT.
- To supervise Higher Specialty Trainees in Internal Medicine.
- To deliver clinical and quality targets agreed both nationally and locally with clinical teams and commissioners.
