Job Title: Medical Director Position

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Director to join our team at the Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust. This is a full-time position that requires a strong background in General Internal Medicine.

The ideal candidate will have a CCT or CESR in General Medicine and be able to work effectively with colleagues to support complex patient care. Additionally, they will have experience in supervising Higher Specialty Trainees and contributing to clinical and quality targets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To provide medical leadership and direction to the Department of General Internal Medicine.
  • To develop and implement clinical and quality improvement initiatives.
  • To supervise and mentor junior doctors and contribute to their professional development.
  • To work collaboratively with other departments to improve patient care and outcomes.

Requirements:

  • MBBS, MBChB or equivalent medical qualification.
  • MRCP and MD or PhD qualifications.
  • Full Registration and a licence to practise with the General Medical Council (GMC).
  • Entry on the GMC Specialist Register via a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) or Certificate of Eligibility for Specialist Registration (CESR).

Salary: £93,000 - £120,000 per annum, depending on experience.
