Quantum Computing Researcher

Oxford Ionics is at the forefront of quantum technology, and we're seeking a talented Quantum Scientist to join our team. As a pioneer in the field, you'll be responsible for designing, debugging, and executing custom experiments on our advanced quantum hardware.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement innovative quantum gate schemes to achieve ultra-low gate errors.
- Conduct rigorous benchmarking to assess system performance and analyse experimental data.
- Collaborate with our research team to present findings and contribute to the development of functional quantum computers.
- Prototype and characterise novel coherent control schemes for trapped-ion qubits.
- Validate new trap technologies and represent Oxford Ionics's vision and scientific results to external audiences.
Requirements:
- PhD in physics or a related discipline with a solid background in atomic or qubit-related physics.
- Three or more years of experience working on an aspect of quantum control in a laboratory environment.
- Experiment and hardware control, and data analysis skills, e.g. using Python.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a small team.
