Overview

MICHAEL KORS is seeking a Senior Accessories Buyer to lead the EMEA market team. This role will be responsible for building robust Handbag & Small Leather Goods assortments to drive commercial results, while ensuring trend relevance in the market.

About the Role

This position will report to the Director of Buying and will partner with teams across the business to identify opportunities, develop & execute product to build strong assortments to ultimately achieve or surpass financial objectives.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Identify and make product ranging decisions based on sound analysis and current market trends.
  • Take a long-term view when buying, balancing long-term goals with short-term trading opportunities.
  • Present buys in sign-off meetings to senior leadership team.
  • Communicate Buying team strategic priorities outwards to the wider business through regular updates and seasonal presentations.
  • Analyse product performance and financial reporting, driving robust trading actions to ensure KPIs and sales plans are being met.
  • Partner with the Accessories Buyer & planning and allocation teams to analyse business and stock opportunities, manage lifecycle and flow of product, and identify re-order opportunities by classification and by style.
  • Work in partnership with the allocation team to ensure new product deliveries are sent to the right distribution in the right quantity.
  • Develop strong relationships with vendors to manage the department's pricing architecture and product development, aligning with the global brand vision.
  • Collaborate with internal functions within the business (Marketing, Visual Merchandising, ECOM, Store Operations, Global Buying teams, EMEA/Global Accessories Teams; regional field leaders) to ensure clear synergy for customer and product needs.
  • Prepare seasonal sales analysis (hind-sights) and devise pre-market strategies ahead of buys, in keeping with the wider business goals and present back to Senior Management.
  • Gather customer feedback and stay on top of consumer trends and the competitive landscape, working with retail field leaders and Ecom site merchandising teams.
  • Frequent international travel to global MICHAEL KORS showrooms, offices, and stores.
  • Build and develop a highly motivated and results-driven team.
  • Support the wider buying function with cross-functional ad-hoc responsibilities.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Minimum 7 years' experience in Retail Buying or equivalent.
  • Background in Accessories or Footwear preferred.
  • Prior experience managing direct reports.
  • Strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills.
  • Dynamic, resilient, and happy to work at a fast pace, able to thrive in an entrepreneurial environment.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Computer Literate – Advanced Excel Skills.
  • Willingness to travel regularly.
