Logistics Job Opportunity: We are seeking an experienced Shipping and Logistics Clerk to join our dynamic team at Red Recruit Local Ltd in Colchester. We are looking for someone with a minimum of 3 years' experience in the shipping industry, preferably within a freight forwarding role. You should have solid knowledge of import/export via sea and air, as well as proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to quickly adapt to new software. Excellent organisational skills, strong written and verbal communication skills, and meticulous attention to detail are essential for this role. A full UK driving licence is also required.

The salary for this position is estimated to be around £28,000 per annum, based on location and industry standards. You must be willing to commute to Colchester regularly and relocate to Colchester prior to starting the role.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Oversee multimodal shipments from start to finish, including liaising with agents, managing bill of ladings, clearance instructions, deliveries, and special requirements.
  • Perform clerical duties such as data entry, filing, and document organisation.
  • Assist with office management tasks, including ordering supplies and inventory management.
  • Answer and direct phone enquiries professionally.
  • Provide administrative support to the operations team.

Skills and Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in the shipping industry, preferably within a freight forwarding role.
  • Solid knowledge of import/export via sea and air.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to quickly adapt to new software.
  • Excellent organisational skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including phone etiquette.
