Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Multi-Skilled Building Services Maintenance Engineer to join our in-house maintenance team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our commercial properties, including electrical, mechanical, and HVAC systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out service desk reactive tasks as directed, in accordance with lease obligations and service level agreements.
- Assist in maintaining plant rooms, reporting any issues for rectification.
- Undertake reactive maintenance, minor works, and public health maintenance, including blocked toilets.
- Investigate and rectify hot and cold air conditioning complaints, including operation of the Building Management System (BMS) and Lighting Control System (LCS).
- Complete water treatment tasks in accordance with L8, utilizing the water treatment logbooks as directed by the Responsible Person(s) and report any issues without delay.
- Undertake minor fabric maintenance works, covering areas such as painting and furniture moving, ensuring that any materials required to complete tasks are ordered in a timely manner.
- Carry out minor mechanical installations, as requested and supervised.
- Identify, manage, and report any risks, accidents, or near misses in a timely manner.
- Work with and escort contractors during maintenance visits, ensuring that working guidelines are always followed and assisting with the quarterly inspection undertaken by the water treatment consultant.
- Respond quickly and effectively to any building alarms received from the helpdesk or BMS, escalating alarms where necessary, and recording all reactive tasks in the shift log.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need to be fully qualified in either electrical or mechanical engineering, ideally through a full apprenticeship, and have at least five years of dedicated building services maintenance experience, preferably within a similar high-profile commercial environment. Additional experience such as 2391, Low Voltage training, L8 or Cooling Tower training, and F-Gas will be beneficial.
