About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team at GSL Education. As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with our skilled educators to provide tailored support to each child, ensuring their individual needs are met.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the teacher in planning and delivering engaging activities that cater to the unique needs of each child.
  • Support children in their social, emotional, and academic development.
  • Help maintain a safe and nurturing environment, ensuring the well-being of all students.
  • Monitor and document children's progress, providing feedback to the teaching team.
  • Foster positive relationships with students, families, and staff.

Qualifications:

  • A relevant qualification in Early Years Education or Childcare is preferred, but not mandatory.
  • Experience working with children in educational settings, particularly with Autism or special educational needs, is desirable.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A patient, understanding, and flexible approach to supporting young learners.

About the School:

The school is a special place for Early Years students aged 2 to 5 with SEN needs, designed to create a calm and supportive environment for their learning. They have small classrooms, a playroom, sensory room, music room, and playground to enhance their experience. With a high staff-to-student ratio, each child receives individualised support tailored to their needs. The curriculum focuses on the unique requirements of each student, grouping them by similar needs and ages. They prioritise safety with trained staff who take any concerns about neglect or abuse very seriously.
