Main Responsibilities

As a Research Ophthalmic Science Practitioner/Ophthalmic Photographer, you will facilitate the set-up and coordination of research studies in line with the research SLA between ophthalmology and the R+I teams. Ensure completion of responsibilities within the required timescales and research study protocols.

You will work as an autonomous practitioner in undertaking ophthalmic imaging using a variety of techniques, for patients of all ages, ranging from children to the elderly and who have various communication abilities.

Work within the Ophthalmology virtual clinic, utilising additional clinical skills to complete a full assessment in line with the clinical protocols/procedures.

Key Skills
  • Knowledge of ocular anatomy, physiology and pathology
  • Ability to analyse quality of clinical images
  • Significant organisational skills
Person Specification

Training and qualifications

  • Degree in photography or equivalent clinical experience within ophthalmic imaging
  • Evidence of CPD and relevant training
  • Experience and competency with Excel
  • Experience managing complex research projects

Desirable

  • Knowledge and understanding of patient data software and related IG policies
  • Experience balancing multiple projects
