About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our Development Management team as a Biodiversity Net Gain Lead Officer. This exciting opportunity will enable you to make a significant contribution to the implementation of biodiversity net gain in our district.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement effective biodiversity net gain strategies to support planning and ecology colleagues.
  • Provide expert advice on biodiversity net gain to applicants and stakeholders.
  • Critically assess biodiversity metric calculations, biodiversity gain plans, and biodiversity statements.
  • Collaborate with partners within the Local Nature Recovery Partnership and other statutory agencies to achieve biodiversity net gain goals.
About You

We are looking for a qualified ecologist with a strong understanding of biodiversity net gain principles, the Environment Act, and relevant legislation and policy. Your expertise in the planning process and ecological context within Development Management will be essential in driving biodiversity net gain in our district.
