Job Title: Field Service Engineer

We are seeking a skilled Field Service Engineer to join our team at Ross Care, a leading provider of healthcare equipment and services. As a Field Service Engineer, you will play a critical role in delivering high-quality service to our customers, ensuring their mobility needs are met with efficiency and professionalism.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver and collect wheelchairs to and from service users' homes and NHS departments, adhering to our Infection Control Policy.
  • Servicing and repairing wheelchairs in the field, aiming for a first-time fix whenever possible.
  • Conduct weekly vehicle safety checks and complete the van check sheet.
  • Maintain a professional customer service attitude and adhere to uniform standards.
  • Agree to undertake all necessary training to maintain required skills for this role.
Requirements:
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Successful enhanced DBS check
  • General workshop knowledge
  • Basic electrical knowledge (12v/24v D.C. systems)
  • Able to safely move and handle loads and equipment
  • Experience in face-to-face customer contact
  • Previous delivery driver experience
  • Understanding of the needs of people with disabilities
  • Flexible approach to working conditions
  • Ability to use own initiative within set boundaries
  • Ability to use a mobile phone to relay photographs
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to relay clear instructions to clients
  • Familiarity with hand-held scanners
Physical Demands:
  • Moving and handling equipment and accessories following guidelines
  • Standing at a bench to work
  • Kneeling/crouching
  • Working in confined spaces if necessary
  • Using ramps and other moving equipment
