About the Role
The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust is seeking a highly skilled Consultant Gastroenterologist to join our team. As a key member of our department, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, contributing to the development of our services, and working collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide clinical leadership and expertise in Gastroenterology, working independently and as part of a team to deliver high-quality patient care.
- Participate in the on-call rota, providing emergency and elective care to patients with gastrointestinal complaints.
- Contribute to the audit and governance of our services, ensuring that we meet the highest standards of quality and safety.
- Support the training and development of junior medical staff, promoting a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
- Engage in research and development activities, contributing to the advancement of our understanding and treatment of gastrointestinal diseases.

Person Specification
- MBBS, MB ChB, or equivalent medical qualification.
- MRCP or equivalent medical qualification.
- Full Registration and a licence to practise with the General Medical Council (GMC).
- Entry on the General Medical Council (GMC) Specialist Register via Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) or Certificate of Eligibility for Specialist Registration (CESR).
