Job Overview

A local construction company in Chester is seeking an experienced Groundworks Manager to oversee site operations and lead residential groundworks projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing construction sites, ensuring health and safety protocols are followed, and maintaining high-quality workmanship.

About the Role

The successful applicant will be responsible for:

  • Managing construction sites, including subcontractors and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations;
  • Developing short-term programs to maximize efficiency and meet project deadlines;
  • Managing responsibility for all health and safety policies and procedures;
  • Working collaboratively with site engineers to ensure timely provision of line and level services;
  • Quality management of substructure work, including drainage, foundations, roads, etc.;
  • Maintaining the Integrated Management System (IMS), policies, and procedures.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • 5+ years' experience as a Groundworks Foreman or Groundworks Manager;
  • Current health and safety card (CSCS, SSSTS, SMSTS, or equivalent) and a First Aid at Work certificate;
  • Experience in residential builds;
  • Valid 360 Excavator ticket;
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills;
  • Time-management skills and ability to meet deadlines;
  • Numeracy and IT skills, including MS Office, Word, and Excel;
  • A full driving license.
Salary and Benefits

This position comes with a basic salary of GBP55,000 per annum, plus bonus up to 8%, van, pension, private medical, and life cover. Estimated annual salary: £57,800.
