Software Integration and Configuration Specialist

Thales is seeking a skilled Software Integration and Configuration Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for the integration of software loads onto various hardware platforms, ensuring the integrity and validity of the software artefacts throughout the entire life cycle.
Responsibilities:- Perform and implement software configuration control activities as outlined in the configuration management plan, including supporting change control boards.
- Define, review, freeze, and share software configuration baselines, supporting the functional baseline and product baseline.
- Manage problem reports and change requests related to software artefacts.
- Perform functional and physical audits to formally approve that software artefacts meet technical requirements and are reproducible.
- Record all approved configuration documentation, applicable configurations, and applied configurations for each platform in the organisation repository.
- Deploy operating systems onto systems, workstations, and virtual machines.
- Configure networks, switches, and system ancillaries.
- Customise and troubleshoot application software and operating systems to meet cyber security requirements as defined by the Cyber Security Design Authority, including hardening, lockdown, and running vulnerability assessments.
- Write and perform tests to verify, validate, and qualify the software load.
- Extensive experience in authoring and reviewing technical documents.
- Experience with Confluence and JIRA.
- Experience with systems integration (hardware and software).
- Experience with verification, validation, and qualification processes.
- Current with Java or other high-level programming language skills.
- Strong software design pattern experience and implementation of best practice.
- Understanding of software development and debugging (e.g. C/C++, Java).
- Windows and Linux Operating Systems Experience.
- Experience with platform engineering development.
- Experience with Windows and Linux System administration.
- Experience with scripting (e.g. shell programming, Bash, Python, Javascript).
