Your Role
As a Software Configuration and Integration Specialist at Thales, you will take charge of integrating software onto diverse hardware platforms, ensuring effective control and configuration. Your responsibilities will include verifying the integrity and traceability of software artifacts throughout their lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute software configuration control activities as outlined in the configuration management plan, including participation in change control boards.
- Establish, review, and finalize software configuration baselines, supporting both functional and product baselines.
- Manage problem reports and change requests related to software artifacts.
- Conduct functional and physical audits to ensure software artifacts meet technical specifications and are reproducible.
- Document all approved configuration records and applicable configurations for each platform in the organizational repository.
- Install operating systems on various systems, workstations, and virtual machines.
- Configure networks, switches, and ancillary systems.
- Customize and troubleshoot application software and operating systems to comply with cybersecurity standards, including hardening and vulnerability assessments.
- Develop and execute tests to verify and validate software loads.
Essential Skills
- Proven experience in creating and reviewing technical documentation.
- Familiarity with Confluence and JIRA.
- Experience in systems integration (both hardware and software).
- Knowledge of verification, validation, and qualification processes.
- Proficiency in Java or other high-level programming languages.
- Strong background in software design patterns and best practices.
- Understanding of software development and debugging (e.g., C/C++, Java).
- Experience with Windows and Linux operating systems.
- Background in platform engineering development.
- Proficient in Windows and Linux system administration.
- Experience with scripting languages (e.g., shell programming, Bash, Python, JavaScript).
