Role Overview:

Our graduate GROW programme is a structured 3-year development programme designed to help you evolve and develop skills to become an experienced professional in fire engineering. You will benefit from training, mentoring, and assistance for relevant accreditations, as well as support and guidance to develop and succeed.

As a fire engineer joining GROW, you will be given the opportunity to specialise in fire safety and obtain the appropriate experiences to become a technical expert. At Arcadis, being an engineer is about applying a human filter to technical expertise and making an impact through innovation and creativity.

Key Responsibilities:

Our experienced fire safety team provides technical support for all RIBA stages, enhancing fire safety and adding value to clients. You will be part of our team, assisting in projects and learning new skills such as computational simulation modelling and digital solutions.

Requirements:

  • Accepted degrees: MEng (or MSc) Fire Engineering, Fire Safety Management, Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering
  • You must have an understanding of Hazard Identification, ALARP, Fire Risk Assessment principles, fire dynamics, heat transfer, and smoke behaviour principles in enclosed environments
  • Basic understanding of Active Fire Protection (AFP) and Passive Fire Protection (PFP) systems and/or basic knowledge of fire modelling simulation

Qualifications & Experience:

  • You will be graduating in or have recently graduated with at least a 2:2 in a relevant Bachelors or Master's degree
  • You will demonstrate typical Arcadian skills including Resilience, Creativity, Analytical Thinking, and being a Team Player
  • You will have excellent communication skills and the ability to use your technical knowledge to influence and consult stakeholders
  • You will be willing to travel and stay away from home when required
