Finance and Property Services plays a vital role in the council, delivering essential services to the public in West Lothian. The Financial Management Unit (FMU) is a high-performing team that ensures the council makes the most effective use of resources to support service delivery.

We are seeking an Accounting Support Level 2 post to join the FMU team, providing financial management and planning support to council services. This role contributes to a comprehensive range of financial services, including financial and management accounting, financial strategy development, and option appraisal.

The successful candidate will have a sound level of accounting expertise and excellent communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with finance colleagues and a wide range of staff throughout the council and in external organizations.

The post requires a proactive attitude and approach, with a focus on delivering high-quality performance standards and contributing to cross-cutting initiatives within the FMU and across the council.

The council supports flexible working arrangements to promote work-life balance, and this post offers a hybrid working arrangement.

To be successful in this role, you will need a HNC in Accounting or a related subject, membership of ATT or a part-qualified accountancy qualification, and a knowledge of local government finance.
