About the Role

The Torrance Hotel is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our culinary team. As a key member of our kitchen team, you will be responsible for assisting the Head Chef in the day-to-day management of the kitchen, ensuring that all food is prepared to the highest standards and that the kitchen runs smoothly and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

Manage the day-to-day operations of the kitchen, including menu planning, inventory management, and staff supervision.

Assist the Head Chef in the preparation and presentation of food, ensuring that all dishes are of the highest quality and presented in a visually appealing way.

Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen, ensuring that all equipment and utensils are clean and well-maintained.

Supervise and train junior kitchen staff, providing guidance and support to ensure that they are able to perform their duties to the highest standard.

Requirements

Proven experience as a Sous Chef in a high-volume kitchen environment.

Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.

Excellent culinary skills, with a passion for creating high-quality dishes.

Ability to work well under pressure, with a calm and composed demeanor in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
