The Opportunity

We are seeking a talented and ambitious lawyer to join our Digital Advisory (Emerging Technology Law) team. As a key member of our team, you will play a central role in helping in-house counsel respond to complex and evolving emerging tech law. You will coordinate and oversee learning and development, business development, and productisation for our global, cross-practice network of more than 400 emerging tech lawyers worldwide.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Monitor and report legal and regulatory matters relating to AI, blockchain, digital assets, and the metaverse.
  2. Conduct research on legal and regulatory matters relating to AI, blockchain, digital assets, and the metaverse using the Internet and other digital tools.
  3. Help manage specialist library, training, and legal know-how materials relating to AI law, blockchain law, digital assets law, and metaverse law.
  4. Assist with document management of precedents and the production of business development materials, including insights campaigns, articles, consultations, webinars, roundtables, and events.
  5. Create and maintain know-how files and distribute them to our Global AI Advisory Group of cross-practice lawyers.
  6. Update our copies of relevant codes, legislation, and regulations relating to AI, blockchain, digital assets, and the metaverse.
  7. Help prepare content for marketing and business development activities, such as pitches, training, client meetings, press, and marketing.
  8. Collect and ensure our data on internal and client activities remains up to date at all times.
  9. Stay abreast of news on emerging technology law and its impact on our clients, and proactively share insights into the impact of news on clients and sectors.
  10. Carry out data collection and analysis on our firm's activities relating to AI law, blockchain law, digital assets law, and metaverse law.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
  1. Excellent academics (minimum 2:1 degree).
  2. SQE / LP preferable but not essential.
  3. 6 months to a year's work experience in an office-based environment (preferable but not essential).
  4. Strong IT literacy, including an aptitude for learning and becoming proficient in the use and functioning of new and innovative software and IT applications.
  5. Experience working in a professional services environment, preferably large international law firm, preferred but not required.
  6. Solutions-oriented, curious, and creative thinker with a strong interest in emerging technologies and their application in the context of law and regulation.
  7. Excellent communication skills, including the ability to summarise complex issues succinctly verbally and in writing and to liaise directly with clients and lawyers and others in the firm, and able to build relationships and influence all levels of seniority.
  8. Excellent organisational skills (including the ability to prioritise) and experience working on numerous projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment, with a high level of attention to detail while also able to step back and see the 'bigger picture' of problems, opportunities, and trends.
  9. Proactive team player with strong problem-solving skills, analytical ability coupled with sound judgement to balance multiple factors and solve complex problems, experience managing projects across multiple stakeholders.
