We are seeking a highly skilled Compliance Officer to join our team at STATESIDE FOODS.
The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting and playing an active role within the Compliance Team by assessing various aspects of compliance within the business and agreeing action plans to drive forward improvements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Complete internal audits against the BRC v9 plus retailer codes of practice standard within the scheduled windows.
- Work alongside the Compliance Officer to ensure all schedules are up to date and accurate.
- New raw material approval, sign off raw material specification and risk assessments.
- Support the Compliance Manager with conducting supplier food safety audits – approval audits, routine and reactive including overseas travel.
- Challenge the company's degree of compliance against customer specific policies and retailer codes of practice.
- Review the businesses' position against industry legislation to ensure companywide legality.
- Conduct factory walk arounds and mock BRC audits to keep the business prepared.
- Liaise with departmental managers to arrange audits and discuss issues, improvements and Non-Conformances raised.
- Work closely with site QA's and QA Managers to keep on top of factory issues.
- Ensure Non-Conformances are closed out in a timely and satisfactory manner.
- Track recurring / long-term issues within the factory.
- Play an active role in BRC and Customer audits for sections relating to this role.
- Produce regular reports and present audit overview information to the business.
- Attend technical conferences and seminars when required by the business.
- Adhere to the company's H&S policies and procedures.
- Adhere to the company's Hygiene policies and procedures.
Requirements:
- Excellent communication and organisation skills.
- BRC v9 knowledge.
- Strong auditing experience.
- Capable of working independently and being self-motivated.
- Confidence working to tight deadlines and KPIs.
- Confidence to overcome objections from all levels within the business.
- Good IT skills (MS Excel, Word and Powerpoint).
- Strong understanding and working knowledge of HACCP.
- Full UK Driving License and able to drive a manual car when needed.
- HACCP Level 2 or equivalent.
