Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Admissions Officer to join our Admissions team at the University of Glasgow. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading a team of Admissions officers in managing admissions processes from point of application to enrolment for a range of specified programmes or applicant cohorts.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of Admissions officers in a high volume, high pressure environment
  • Develop and implement processes to ensure a leading applicant experience and excellent customer service
  • Deliver training and manage team members to execute all processes related to the applicant journey, including initial assessment and selection, decision processing, and confirmation processes
  • Support the Enquiry Team Lead to ensure that applicant enquiries are responded to in a timely fashion
  • Create and maintain operational reporting tools to assess the efficiency of processes against key performance indicators
  • Support the creation of and responsibility for the implementation and reporting of key performance indicators and service level agreements
  • Design and develop selection and review processes to ensure decision processing is completed in line with applicant cohort and programme or intake category targets and caps
  • Operational lead for core processes with high impact to recruitment, including UKVI Compliance and Fee Status Assessment
  • Support the Admissions Operations Manager to manage technical tools and systems required for Admissions processes
  • Support operational Admissions processes to ensure turnaround times are maintained during periods of high volumes
  • Develop and manage relationships with key internal stakeholders in relevant Schools and Colleges

Requirements:

  • Ability to demonstrate the competencies required to undertake the duties associated with this level of post
  • Knowledge of pre-HE and HE qualification frameworks in key recruitment markets
  • Knowledge of legislation and compliance parameters that govern Admissions practice and policy
  • Ability to work as part of a team and independently on own initiative
  • Effective planning, organising and prioritising with the ability to offer a flexible approach to managing workload
  • Ability to communicate clearly orally and in writing to ensure effective reporting and customer service
  • Excellent IT skills, including Outlook, Excel, Word, Access and bespoke databases

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Management skills and the ability to manage sickness absence and phased return, recruitment, staff wellbeing, performance, training and development
  • Experience of managing or supervising a team of professionals in a high pressure, high volume environment
  • Experience of designing and delivering bespoke training materials
  • Experience in liaising with colleagues from across the broad range of Higher Education professionals

Terms and Conditions:

  • Salary: Grade 6, £32,332 - £36,024 per annum
  • This post is full time (35 hours p/w) and open ended
