Kepak Group is a leading global food company that produces high-quality beef and lamb products. We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our team at Kepak Merthyr, a combined beef and lamb processing and packing facility.

The successful candidate will play a vital role in providing effective maintenance support to our Production team, ensuring the equipment, machinery, and tools used in our factory are always running smoothly. This will involve troubleshooting and fault-finding diagnostics, as well as implementing continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency.

We are looking for someone with a multi-skilled background, preferably with experience in a manufacturing environment, particularly in meat or food production. Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, PLC control, refrigeration, and PTW systems is highly desirable.

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work under own initiative and meet deadlines. They will also be a team player who is committed to maintaining machinery compliance and ensuring safety standards are met.

  • Multi-skilled apprenticeship
  • Suitable Electrical and/or Mechanical Qualification
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in meat or food production
  • Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, PLC control, refrigeration, and PTW systems
  • Significant trouble shooting and fault-finding diagnostics and resolution experience
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrate team skills with a positive attitude and professional approach
  • Domestic wiring experience, PLC program structure and operational awareness, Continuous improvement and lean experience would be an advantage
