We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Specialist Optometrist to join our dynamic team at Aneurin Bevan University Health Board. This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside our ophthalmology consultant and medical workforce specialist optometrists, orthoptists, and nursing teams.

About the Role

As a Specialist Optometrist in Ophthalmology, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality clinical care to patients with sight-threatening eye disease within ophthalmic sub-specialist clinics. You will also provide core optometric services, including advanced paediatric refractions and specialist contact lenses.

Key Responsibilities
  • To plan and deliver specialist clinical examinations that are commensurate with clinical experience being comprehensive and taking account of guidance from national recommendations and local protocols.
  • To ensure the promotion and maintenance of health and prevention of illness.
  • To liaise and communicate with members of the multidisciplinary team in the planning and delivery of patient care.

You will have the opportunity to develop your skills and expertise through ongoing professional development and training opportunities.

A generous salary of £45,000 - £60,000 per annum reflects the importance of this role in delivering exceptional patient care.
