In this role, you will be responsible for creating a safe and nurturing environment, promoting positive relationships, and encouraging independence and self-development.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Provide emotional and social support to young people, helping them develop meaningful relationships with peers and adults.
  • Support young people in achieving their life goals, making informed choices, and developing independence skills.
  • Assess and respond to the individual needs of each young person, working closely with colleagues and managers to develop and implement personalized care plans.
  • Encourage participation in daily activities, educational programs, and community engagement initiatives.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure a consistent and supportive environment.

Requirements:

  • Relevant qualification or commitment to undertake a Level 3 Diploma for Residential Childcare.
  • Experience working in the care sector or residential care (desirable).
  • Ability to engage with young people positively and proactively.
  • Self-motivated and empathetic with excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work individually and as part of a team.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and continuous learning.

What We Offer:

  • A competitive salary: £28,959.84 per annum (Qualified Support Worker rate) based on completion of probation period.
  • Specific hours: 12-hour shifts (08:00am - 20:00pm), with opportunities for Bank Holidays and sleep-in allowances.
  • A minimum average of 168 hours per calendar month and annual leave entitlement (including Bank Holidays).
  • Pension scheme and enrolment to required qualification after a qualifying period.
  • Holiday increase per year – 12 extra hours for 3 years (capped at 272 hours).
