Embark on a challenging opportunity to lead our Principal Designer & CDM Consultancy services business unit at The Health and Safety Partnership Limited.

The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in managing, overseeing, and growing the business unit while remaining hands-on and client-facing. You will lead a team of consultants, associate and director grades, delivering high-quality services for projects ranging from £500k to £500m across various sectors, including blue-chip and public sector clients. These projects involve design and build, engineering, and infrastructure works.

About the Role

  • Strategic Leadership: Establish long-term goals and align them with market trends and regulatory changes to drive growth and success.
  • Business Development: Identify opportunities for expansion, secure new contracts, and expand the client base through proactive networking and relationship-building.
  • Process Improvement: Continuously enhance the firm's processes, workflows, and methodologies to boost efficiency and service delivery standards.
  • Industry Representation: Represent the consultancy at industry events, conferences, and meetings to increase visibility and reputation.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Foster strong connections with stakeholders in the construction industry, including regulators, contractors, architects, and engineers.

Client Management

  • Relationship Building: Develop and maintain strong relationships with key clients, ensuring customer satisfaction and fostering repeat business.
  • CDM Consultancy Services: Manage the delivery of CDM consultancy services, ensuring projects meet legal regulations and client expectations.
  • Talent Development: Recruit, train, and develop staff to maintain a high level of expertise within the consultancy.

Financial Acumen

  • Financial Oversight: Oversee the financial health of the consultancy, including budget management, cost control, and profitability analysis.
  • Revenue Growth: Ensure the consultancy meets financial targets and achieves a sustainable revenue stream.

This leadership role requires a balance between strategic direction, business development, process improvement, and stakeholder engagement. By excelling in these areas, you will ensure the consultancy remains competitive, compliant, and profitable in a highly regulated industry.

Requirements

  • Degree qualified in a design or construction management-related field is preferred.
  • Proficient in using standard Microsoft Office applications and experienced with BIM would be beneficial.
