About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Healthcare Assistant to join our team in the Renal Satellite Unit at University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will work in a nurse-led environment, providing direct care to patients requiring haemodialysis replacement therapy.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality patient care, demonstrating a strong understanding of the unit's philosophy and system of working.
- Contribute to the smooth and efficient running of the unit, ensuring that all areas are clean and tidy and that stocks are adequately maintained.
- Work collaboratively with the healthcare team to deliver excellent patient outcomes.
- Participate in the assessment, planning, monitoring, and evaluation of patient care prior to, during, and post haemodialysis.
- Perform basic nursing care, including venepuncture and cannulation of fistulae.
- Support registered staff in the nurse-led satellite dialysis setting, ensuring patients' care and well-being is paramount.
Requirements
- At least 1 year of healthcare experience.
- Level 3 qualification in Healthcare or equivalent qualification at level 3 or working towards NVQ level 3.
- NHS experience in a healthcare setting is desirable.
- Renal experience is also desirable.
