About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Chef to join our Catering team at One Ashford Hospital. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing an exceptional catering service to patients, visitors, and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the preparation of menus for the ward, staff restaurant, and functions
  • Order stock from approved suppliers and ensure deliveries match the order
  • Ensure food is ready at required times and served to the appropriate standard
  • Follow HACCP regulations and complete necessary paperwork
  • Take responsibility for solving any issues that arise while on duty
  • Undertake stock rotation, labelling, and allergy awareness
  • Communicate with ward hosts and nurses to ensure allergy and dietary requirements are met
Requirements
  • City and Guilds 706-1/2 or NVQ equivalent
  • Level 2 Food Safety Certificate
  • HACCP and Food Allergy training desirable
  • Experience in a similar role, preferably in a healthcare setting
  • Familiarity with best practice, HACCP, and Health and Safety
