**Job Summary**

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Research Associate to join our Genomics and Bioinformatics Core within the Institute of Metabolic Science at the University of Cambridge. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing analytical and data management support to research groups within the Metabolic Research Laboratories.

**Key Responsibilities**

  • Design, implement, and interpret projects utilizing human genetics data
  • Analyse whole exome/genome sequence data in clinical genetic studies and large-scale population studies
  • Develop and maintain computational tools and pipelines for data analysis
  • Collaborate with research groups to identify and address research questions
  • Contribute to the development of research proposals and grant applications

**Requirements**

  • PhD in genetic epidemiology, statistical genetics, computational biology, bioinformatics, or closely related fields
  • Strong computational background and experience with statistical genetics approaches
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
