Job Title: Construction Site Crane Operator

At Babcock International Group, we're working to create a safe and secure world, together. As a Construction Site Crane Operator at our Devonport Royal Dockyard site, you'll play a vital role in our team.

The Role

As a Construction Site Crane Operator, you'll be responsible for lifting and moving materials around the dockyard as safely and efficiently as possible. Your day-to-day tasks will include:

  • Working to manufacturer's instructions at all times
  • Adhering to road traffic regulations
  • Ensuring PPE is worn at all appropriate times
  • Being conversant with the correct use of outriggers
  • Setting and checking the functioning of the rated capacity limiter and rated capacity indicator

You'll work a flexible schedule, including night and weekend shifts, as required. This role is full time, 35 hours per week, and is based on site at Devonport Royal Dockyard.

Essential Experience

  • Previous experience operating cranes
  • Knowledge of the effects of wind and other climatic conditions on the crane and load
  • Displaying safe working practices
  • Good communication skills
  • Open to new ideas
  • Forklift truck driver

Qualifications

  • CPCS blue card or completed the NPORS N course

Security Clearance

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
