About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Community Support Specialist to join our team at Riverside, a housing association with a difference. As a Community Support Specialist, you will play a key role in providing support services to vulnerable individuals, helping them to achieve their goals and improve their overall well-being.

Job Description

The successful candidate will have experience of working with vulnerable client groups and delivering structured support in either housing or social care. They will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with customers, colleagues, and external partners.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality support services to customers, including assistance with daily living tasks, benefit claims, and access to education and employment opportunities.
  • Work closely with customers to identify their needs and develop personalized support plans that help them achieve their goals.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records on customer progress and provide regular updates to management and other stakeholders.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to the development of policies and procedures that promote best practice in community support.
  • Undertake regular training and professional development to enhance knowledge and skills in areas such as trauma-informed care, mental health, and substance misuse.

Requirements

  • Degree in Social Work, Psychology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Proven experience of working with vulnerable populations, including those experiencing homelessness, mental illness, or addiction.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with customers, colleagues, and external partners.
  • Ability to work flexibly, including evenings and weekends, to meet the needs of customers and the organization.
