We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Specialist Practitioner Child to join our Swansea Therapeutic Team within the Family Support Service, Child and Family Services in Swansea. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality, innovative, and meaningful work with children, young people, and their families.

About the Role

The successful candidate will have substantial knowledge and experience of working with developmental trauma, with a focus on attachment-focused and trauma-informed approaches. You will work collaboratively with social care staff, families, and other stakeholders to provide therapeutic interventions, consultation, and support to children and young people in need.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide therapeutic work with children, young people, and their families, using evidence-based approaches such as Sensory Attachment, Theraplay, and Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy (DDP).
  • Consult with social care staff to develop their understanding of the child's needs and provide guidance on trauma-informed practice.
  • Engage with the wider network of professionals supporting children and families in Swansea, including partner agencies and other stakeholders.
  • Contribute to the development of therapeutic services within the Edge of Care/Supported Care Planning and with children who are looked after.
